Born and raised where The Outsiders story took place, I’m a Greaser from north Tulsa. I have since lived in Cincinnati and then Houston, before moving to Tallahassee in 2008.
I’m 61 years old, and I have 3 wonderful grown children, one of whom died at 27 in 2015. My wife has a grown daughter, who has a beautiful little boy.
I guess the reason I want to blog is because no matter how hard I try to simplify my life and “normalize” things, life has a way of making every day a surprise. My only intention is to journal those daily surprises, for what I expect will be a small audience of family and a few friends.
So why keep a public journal, rather than private? First, because I think we all know that keeping in touch with even a few people via Facebook has its drawbacks; and, second, because I hope to bring out the interesting parts of what initially appears to be an uninteresting life. I mean, if even this mundane guy can find meaning in the daily turning of the grindstone, hopefully my readers will take a new look at their own existence and get something more out of it.
